There's plenty of literature out there that can help you learn how to do this.

Second, introduction sections are supposed to introduce the reader to the topic of your essay which your introduction fails to do. I am not sure introductions can outright divide United Nations agencies into "superficial" and "important" as there is merely no universally agreed upon basis for such statements, nor do they represent the body of common knowledge. I suppose this was your own surmise which should have no place in the introduction.

Third, a lot of information under what should be "Overlapping Agencies" is redundant as it doesn't go to the core of the issue in point (I simply fail to see how CCC's information about the number of local and international NGOs has anything to do with redundancy within the UN system).

Fourth, under "Agencies that should be reformed", there are simply too many frivolous and outlandish statements which lack foundation (for example, the fact that Phnom Penh Office of the World Bank accused the Cambodian government of corruption had nothing to do with the Wolfowitz scandal, etc.)

Fifth, none of the above follow the template I had suggested in class -- problem-proposed solution -- and statements pertaining to the necessity of reform of the agencies you had chosen to discuss are nothing more than your own speculations which don't seem to be based upon any factual data.

Most important, the paper doesn't meet the most basic requirement I set in class at the beginning of this course -- it doesn't focus on one agency and deal with whatever the issues it might have.

Lastly, there is no evidence of you following a known citation standard as the paper completely missing footnotes. The bibliography format you had chosen doesn't conform to any known bib format I am aware of either.

Much more time and effort should have been dedicated to this paper to bring it up to acceptable level of research writing.

StanStan Staryginhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00960159815221006813noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7583059286314602919.post-16891664709937710952008-02-05T05:20:00.000-08:002008-02-05T05:20:00.000-08:00I also agree with you that the other two agencies:...I also agree with you that the other two agencies: United Nations Democracy Fund (UNDEF) and United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) should be promoted to be more famous since they have actively played roles in the present world, but in contrast, they have not been promoted to be known like other UN agencies like the World Bank, the IMF, and so on. But the problem is that how can they be more successful and through which the UNEP has more power to make decision of placing sanction to the countries that do not have strong commitment or lack of responsibility of producing air pollution to the world environment as you mentioned?Chhun Sokhahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08046615661283418645noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7583059286314602919.post-82572868591501810832008-02-05T02:09:00.000-08:002008-02-05T02:09:00.000-08:00Criticism of UN agencies reformThere is no specify...Criticism of UN agencies reform
There is no specifying target. There are many agencies that you suggest to reform. Thus, it makes your topic unclear because you don’t explain much on one specific agency.
You suggest UNEP to put sanction to countries which harm the environment. However, UNEP is just the agencies; it doesn’t have much power to do so. Since you don’t mention about the membership of this agencies, I also don’t know how many states are the member of this agency and how much power of this agency in dealing with the sanction. Therefore, it is better to strengthen this agencies power first before putting the sanction to other states.
In conclusion, you mention about “Lords of Poverty”, a name of a book, but you don’t mention about what this book focus on. Thus, I have no idea about what you what me to know.
Some agencies are overlapping each other such as UNINSTRAW and UNIFEM, or UNRISD and UNESCO. You said that it waste time and money to establish it. So, it is good to eliminate it, but you said that elimination is difficult. However, you didn’t explain why it is difficult to eliminate the agency. You use the suggestion to some scholar to compound these agencies into one in order to save the money. It is the good idea but it doesn’t save much money, so why don’t you find the way to eliminate it.sok lyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07434567168739439613noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7583059286314602919.post-19829724089514356632008-02-04T19:10:00.000-08:002008-02-04T19:10:00.000-08:00hey, Ratana! of course for all your comment on the...hey, Ratana! of course for all your comment on the improvement on other agencies and reduce the other organ such like the IMF and World Bank that is so pupolar...
but i think what you have mentioned in your article is too much on the democratic side only... as maybe you have only favor in the democratic side and forget to mention about other side.. of course, along with having some pros, democracy also have its corn either.. so you should also concerned about that.. Men, you have to be neutral in analysing one.. that is one about the organ such like you call, UNDEF...
for the reason that why the IMF or World Bank become so popular it is in my opinion because it help with the economic side only and not more on the political side...onzemardyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09317546396035526701noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7583059286314602919.post-80503960658696723902008-02-04T04:58:00.000-08:002008-02-04T04:58:00.000-08:00Hi Ratana!I have look on paper, I real don't under...Hi Ratana!
I have look on paper, I real don't understand tha you want IMF and WB to reform, and you said that IMF and WB strugle to progress of developing country,,,,,,,,, I cannot get your idea in this point....
Thank you Ratana.....Darahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05692723647364924875noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7583059286314602919.post-19769519843558405322008-02-03T18:19:00.000-08:002008-02-03T18:19:00.000-08:00well, u have overlook some of the important role o...well, u have overlook some of the important role of IMF and WB. it is true that WB and IMF had many failure s but they also have many success more than of those failure. without the IMF help during the economy crisis in 1997 which started in Thailand, then the whole Southeast Asia will be in trouble. Yes, other organ of the UN are also important but they do not play such a major role as the IMF or the WB. WB work on long term development and IMF secure money stability.Vichethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12369306983906044392noreply@blogger.com
