You seem to have stated a valid point -- the Trusteeship Council is clientless institution -- and then instead of moving away from that into reform, you went all the way back and spent much effort analyzing its mandate in very thin facets. I am glad you put in an effort into this, but how do these details of the TC's mandate help your reform arguments?

I failed to understand your argument the TC being within the authority of the Security Council and that in some way unbeknownst to me the SC can help the TC do its job. What job would that be and why is the TC, otherwise, unable to do with the SC?

I am not sure about your 'dependence' argument either. Simply because a particular agency, by the letter of the Charter, is allowed to seek cooperation from other agencies within the UN doesn't make that agency dependent on them, but rather being able to tap into the resources of these agencies.

In the end, with all its detailed analyses of issues irrelevant to the topic, this paper missed the mark by a mile by failing to address the most important question posed for this research assignment -- how do you and others propose the TC be reformed?

StanStan Staryginhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00960159815221006813noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7583059286314602919.post-64584724472573582782008-02-05T02:16:00.000-08:002008-02-05T02:16:00.000-08:00Criticism of UN Trusteeship Council Impossibility ...Criticism of UN Trusteeship Council
Impossibility and inefficiency of Trusteeship Council is the good reason to remove the Trusteeship Council, but overlapping with other agencies is not the reason. Trusteeship Council is the one of six organs of UN. Compare to other agencies, it is bigger than other agencies. If we want to remove one of them because of overlapping, why we remove the big one but not the small one since removing the small one is easier since it has small structure.
Are there any differences of putting Trusteeship Council under the Security Council? As you mention, since the Charter state that Trusteeship council need Security Council in order to perform its function, putting or not putting Trusteeship Council under the Security Council is the same thing. It is just different of title from organ to agency. Moreover, why do you want to convert Trusteeship Council into the agency under Security Council since it doesn’t have the job to function (no more trust territories)?
You also want the new Trusteeship Council which placed under the supervision of the Security Council should deal with any new problem occurring in the future. However, if there is the new problems which don’t related to the Trusteeship Council field, how it’s going to solve the problem. Therefore, we still need to create another agency to deal with the problems. Since we need to create the new one, there is no need to keep Trusteeship Council which doesn’t work with new problems.sok lyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07434567168739439613noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7583059286314602919.post-38345480220821178232008-02-04T19:18:00.000-08:002008-02-04T19:18:00.000-08:00i believe that the TC need to reform. it should be...i believe that the TC need to reform. it should be completely terminate. but if it is to be reform then i support the idea u mention that it should be put together with other body of the UN and support other people work. to be precise, it should support the work of the UNSC and be under the UNSC.Vichethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12369306983906044392noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7583059286314602919.post-79625747800654162952008-02-03T00:50:00.000-08:002008-02-03T00:50:00.000-08:00dear sokha!!You said and suggested that the Truste...dear sokha!!
You said and suggested that the Trusteeship Council is supposed to be another organ or agency, that meant from the gigantic organ to be a new agency, which under the supervision of the SC,.. of course it is true that the TC is taking no job at all recently, but what will be done if one day there have another new state that claim for independent?
Also within the charter of the UN Charters, there also have some charters related to the functions and obligation of the TC.. then if we dismissed this organ, so what can we (the UN body) to deal with this.. so do you want the UN to amendment their charters,, or what else? i think you should also have concerned within that?? because in order to draft the charter it talk long time, lots of discussion, lots of quarrels.. even in the domestic one that dealt only for one's nation... then what about that gigantic organization that consist of 193 members, which they all might have different constitution from one another..
at last, i have only this to talked, hope you have concerned more within the point that i raised and comment to you..
good luckonzemardyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09317546396035526701noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7583059286314602919.post-84849793959612818472008-01-28T19:41:00.000-08:002008-01-28T19:41:00.000-08:00Hi Sokha! You said that trusteeship council is impo...Hi Sokha!
You said that trusteeship council is impossible and inefficient, but you alos said that after the The Trusteeship council which bring the independent to Palau, SO what do you meant by that.... even though the trusteeship is gone but it stills remains good point to some county.........
Please clearify your statement....... by impossible and inefficient............Darahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05692723647364924875noreply@blogger.com
